Car Hire #1!

Monday, March 8, 2010

For those of us that like to follow our dreams (or our teams) there’s only one way to travel.

You can try the old ‘jump off the plane and into a cab, out of the cab and into the hotel, settle down, wait in the foyer for another cab, walk down the street. Cab.. cab.. cab.. ca.. a. c..’ You can see where I’m going with the cab tangent: when you’re visiting a foreign country the busses are confusing, the trains are a fight (literally in some countries) and walking is the most sure-fire way to get yourself into a sticky situation (not least because you’ll end up back in a cab!). When it comes to relying on the number in your pocket and the amount of cash in your wallet, things can go downhill fairly quickly.

The way forward is car hire, unless you’re really adventurous (or there are a pile of you), van hire! Get yourself behind the wheel in a new place, and the world opens up. You can see as much as you’d like to see without time constraints. Rented cars pull over and stop when you need a slash, they can be whatever temperature you want, take whichever route you want, play whatever music you want AND parking is at it’s absolute worst when you’re in England, so even those prices will be a joy!

So you’re in Milan for the champions league final and you’ve just missed the bus. Ah well: get to the game half an hour late. You only paid £1,000 for the ticket.

Erk.

  1. Good read, thanks. Constantly hunting out for odd and amazing information to read :)

  2. A terrible Villa performace. It’s been coming for a while. 3 points from 4 games. Same old story in the back-end of the season
