Archive for February 2010

With all the recent altercations in the Premier League love nest I was interested to learn more of the high-profile WAGs. Victoria Beckham, Coleen Rooney and Louise RedKnapp are some of the obvious ones. Seems everyone there is doing fairly well!

Cheryl Cole’s reputed to have found some sense and walk away from the IDIOT that played away from home twice (that we know of). I reckon he’ll be kicking more than just a football whenever he sees footage of his (ex) wife.

We all know Noemie Lenoir as the Marks and Spencer lingerie model on the box, she’s also been seen (on occasion!) in dresses and other real clothes. Turns out she split up with French DMF Claude Makélélé around June last year. Looking further into the matter I discovered that she is the most recent in a long line of partners for rap star Russell Simmons, and what a line it is. I followed my nose into the ‘whosdatedwho’ website and discovered some awesome stuff!

Included in the love web that begins with Noemi Lenoir we see Karrine Steffans, who had some sort of ‘thing’ with this Russel Simmons chap. According to this website there’s no one she’d say no too, providing they were LOADED and recognisable by the western culture in it’s entirety. Check out her page. Kara Young is another name on the list. Again she’s linked with Russel Simmons and the most recent name on her list is Donald Trump, and again.. what a list he has! Excellent.

I’m sure if I wasted any more time I’d see the list go around and around. WAG’s over here, there and everywhere. They say you can link yourself to anyone in the world with just 7 steps. Probably best to watch your back, unless you want to be added to the list of a national news paper as one of the mugs that was rinsed and fire-dried.

Let it be a lesson to you. What goes around comes around.

Unirea Urziceni vs Liverpool 1 – 3  (Fernandes, Mascherano, Babel, Gerrard)

Our last chance to get some silverware in the cabinet came a step closer last night. We’ve only lost 1 game in 10 against Unirea, and this one ran with the odds. Another fairly standard performance from the red-men, but not a result to sniff at. There’s been a lot of chat about Rafa’s tactics with zonal marking – the early goal conceded from a corner with nine liverpool shirts in the box. Bruno Fernandes rose above everyone to head the ball into the back of the net – Insua was the closest chance we had to keeping the clean sheet, but it was another classic case of too little too late.

Our boys came good though: every goal (arguably) down to poor defending on Unirea’s part. Mascherano sat up where any self respecting DMF would at a corner – the ball dropped out for him just outside the 18 yards and he smashed his shot to convert for the first time in Europian club football.

Babel managed to poke in a freekick that was scrabbled around in the box, and Benayoun wandered onto the penalty spot before laying a hit-or-miss pass out to Gerrard, luckily he was first to the ball. It seems to me that the defenders could’ve scooped the pass away, but the venom with which Steven cracked the ball I can understand why they’d be hesitant. In the end it was a sloppy game of football. Would Liverpool have won if Unirea Urziceni had a bit more desire? Maybe not.

So that’s 4-1 on aggregate. Into the final 16 and on to Lille.

Europa.. Hooray. :|

Skrtel took a nasty blow that has already been suggested as a broken foot, so we won’t be seeing him for a while. Rodriguez returns but Kyrgiakos stays at home as we gear up for Sundays game against Blackburn.
